SpokenExistence, Inc. is a womyn-based organization bridging the gap on all
issues that marginalize Black womyn and youth.  We seek to affirm and nurture creativity
and activism, as well as address the emotional, mental and spiritual health of womyn and
girls of African descent.  Our institution seeks to offer and celebrate artistic expression via
education, literary works, the hip-hop culture, and community relations.  SpokenExistence
is an arm of social justice working to uproot oppression and redefine ‘self’ to include
solidarity and communal responsibility.  We want to generate and disseminate new
discourse and dialogue on womyn and gender issues.

Through its programming, SpokenExistence provides a creative safe space for Black
womyn and youth.  SpokenExistence also establishes professional networks among
womyn-friendly organizations and businesses that service African Americans in Chicago.
We aim to do this by:
•        Financially sustaining community-based   programming and organizations
•        Through counseling, educational, and employment services and referrals
•        Creating a curriculum for seminars, workshops, and studies for educational
systems in Chicago and other areas.
